Beeswax has a comedogenic rating between 0 - 2. This means it has a low chance of clogging pores. Beeswax protects and moisturises the skin while simultaneously allowing it to breathe.

Does beeswax help eczema?

Beeswax is often said to help reduce eczema and psoriasis. However we haven’t seen any definitive evidence to prove it. If you’ve seen any, feel free to send it our way!

Is there a vegan alternative for beeswax?

Candelilla wax and olive wax are possible substitutes for beeswax. However, they don’t give quite the same creamy skin feel as beeswax. 

If you’re going to substitute, definitely make a test batch first to make sure you’re happy with the finished product.
